Getting it into my house and upstairs did require two people as the box says. When I pulled all the pieces out of the box and counted all the pieces and little parts, I had everything listed. All of the particle boards pieces looked good, the black paint looked seamless and nice. The instructions were easy to follow until it came to attaching the side and bottom pieces to the inner cube system. The “D” boards (the small boards that make up the cubes) fell off plenty of times while we tried to construct this. It was definitely a two person job to put it together and took two hours. The boards, despite our caution to not rubbing them together, got a few small scratches during construction. One board had a small piece break off where the wooden dowel went in (go figure, it's particle board). However, I just flipped that board over so it is not visible now hat is is finished. I have it set up as four cubes high and three wide, so it is taller than it is wide. It has nice storage space and the fabric cubes I bought in store at my local Walmart (12.8 x12.8 x15 in) fit perfectly. Over all, the finished product looks nice. It is only with close examinations that you can see the tiny scratches from construction. Overall, I am happy with it at the moment. As I constructed it yesterday, I do not know how sturdy this will be in the long run, but for the price, I would be happy with two years. I had my doubts about the structural integrity of this when putting it together but once fully constructed it seemed pretty sturdy.

I'm a record collector and it's well known that this type of cube unit is a great way to store albums. I purchased this unit because the dimensions for it fit a space available in my office perfectly when rotated 3 wide and 4 tall. Most other three-wide units are only two or three cubbies tall. I need the most bang for my buck. The description of this unit noted that it can be used in either orientation so I opted to take a shot. However, here's the thing: the shelves when on its side like this are held in place by dowels only that go into the 1/2″ thick particle board shelf about 1/2″ to 3/4″ tops. I'm currently okay, but it's easy to see that with too much weight the particle board shelf will split and it will fail. If horizontal, I would have no concerns, but vertical like I have it, I'm worried. Therefore, during assembly, I utilized construction adhesive and anticipate that this will help hold the unit together. I also installed a panel on the back to prevent racking from left to right and glued the shelves to the backing for added support. So far so good. Assembly was easy and completed without assistance. I would not recommend this to a record collector who wants to use this 3-wide vertically, but if you're going 4 wide, it's perfectly fine.

We bought two of these organizers to take care of the massive clutter of toys that were everywhere in our house. We bought the cream colored inserts for the top and bottom rows and the taupe patterned ones for the middle separated by a floor lamp in between. Wow, what a difference these made! They look GREAT! Very modern. All of the toys – even the larger ones – fit nicely. Now because of this storage unit, we go into our living room and sigh a breath of relaxation instead of being overwhelmed with the toy explosion. I highly recommend this product!
